To provide a cutter sharpening device capable of suppressing the occurrence of unevenness in pressure applied to a cutter tip of a cutter and polishing it with very high precision at a contact angle set in high precision.

This edge sharpening device is provided with a stock 3 on which a grinding wheel 2 is fixed, a cutter supporting part 4 for detachably attaching the cutter 1 to be polished, a long operation bar member 5 provided with the cutter supporting part 4 in a tip part, and a bar supporting part 7 provided at a position apart from the grinding wheel 2 and with a terminal part of the operation bar member 5 supported therein in a vertical shaft part 6 in an upper part. The bar supporting part 7 maintains a condition in which an upper face of the grinding wheel 2 is brought into contact with the cutter 1 attached to the cutter supporting part 4 at a predetermined angle and supports the inclined operation bar member 5 so as to turn centered on the vertical shaft part 6.
