PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an edge-treating tape for a sewn product and provide a process for producing an edge-treated sewn product by using the tape.
SOLUTION: This edge-treating tape comprises a continuous base sheet 2 composed of a seam margin strip 5 and an adhesive layer supporting strip 6 extending in longitudinal direction, a 1st adhesive layer strip 3a formed on a part of a surface of the adhesive layer supporting strip in such a manner as to include the boundary line 4 of the adhesive layer supporting strip and the seam margin strip as an end part in the longitudinal direction of the sheet 2, and a 2nd adhesive layer strip 3b formed on a part of the other surface of the adhesive layer supporting strip in the longitudinal direction of the sheet 2. The lateral width of the seam margin strip is selected to a width not to cause the hem loosening when the seam margin strip is sewn to a treating object fabric at least in the lateral direction of the seam margin strip interposing a prescribed gap in the longitudinal direction of the seam margin strip. A hemming work can be performed without causing a hem loosening trouble, etc.
