To solve problems in a conventional media data edit device such that it cannot perform after-recording edit for video and audio data transmitted/ received and that it takes a very long time for transmission of the edited media data and deteriorates the reproduction efficiency when the media data are edited.
A demultiplexer section 2 demultiplexes media data such as video, text and audio data downloaded through a network such as the Internet and a LAN. A synchronization section 16 obtains a recovered timing synchronizing signal of each signal and reproduction sections 13-15 reproduce data in this timing. An input section 22 and a conversion section 24 convert an input audio signal into a digital signal synchronously with the reproduction and store the converted signal. A mixing section 30 mixes a decoded audio data with the stored audio data and a coding section 32 encodes the mixed data and stores the coded data to a storage section 34. An upload section 38 uploads the stored data and the media system data in cross-reference with each other.
