To make possible easily and rapidly performing complex editing work by beforehand controlling a relation between an edited result clip and an editing objective clips and invalidating all clips linked to an upper rank of its clip based on the relation between the clips when the contents of the edited result clip are revised.
When editing processing contents of a result clip FC-E is revised, all identifying flags of the result clips FC-C, FC-D, FC-B and FC-A linked to a higher rank than the result clip FC-E are revised invalidly, and when re- executive processing is specified, its effectiveness is studied from an uppermost rank result clip FC-A toward the lower rank clip, and when all clips linked to the lower rank arrive at a valid clip, editing processing of these clips are re-executed, and these clips are revised to the valid clips, and the editing processing of the clips linked to the higher rank than its clip are re-executed successively.
