To provide an effect device which gives the effect to make performance richer than heretofore.
In Fig.4, frequency characteristics of band pass filters corresponding to respective strings are shown, in which an abscissa indicates a frequency (logarithm) and an ordinate is indicated as a signal level to be passed through. The frequency bands of these band pass filters are so set as to discriminate which of strings are played by the frequencies of inputted musical tones. For example, in the filter corresponding to the sixth string, the frequency band of the band pass filter 21 corresponding to a fundamental note is set to 82 to 105 Hz. In this case, the frequency of the sixth string open (when none of frets are pressed) is 82.4 Hz, and the frequency when the fourth fret is pressed is 103.8 Hz. The frequency bands are so set as to allow passage of only the musical tones of the open to the fourth fret of the sixth string.
