Abstract:

PURPOSE: To recover the pressure energy that the whole of blast furnace top gases possesses effectively by using gas turbines for recovering the respective blast furnace pressures, gathering the excess top gases of the respective furnaces and introducing the same into the specific gas turbines, etc.

CONSTITUTION: Septum valves 4, 4', 4" are held closed except in emergency. Respective furnace top pressures are controlled with control valves 8, 8', 8" respectively to set pressures. The top gases of furnaces 1, 1', 1" are introduced respectively into gas turbines 6, 6', 6" for recovering furnace top pressures and the outputs thereof are recovered as electric energy. The excess top gases of the respective furnaces are gathered in a manihold pipe 15 and are flowed to a gas turbine 10 specific for power generation, whereby they are recovered as electric energy. Or they are flowed to the gas turbines for recovering the top pressures of idle blast furnaces, whereby the pressure energy is recovered.
