Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient LED array.SOLUTION: In an aspect, an LED apparatus includes a metal substrate 204 having a reflective surface, and LED chips 100 mounted directly to a reflective surface 206 to allow for thermal dissipation, in which at least some of the LED chips 100 are spaced apart from each other to allow light to reflect from a portion of the reflective surface 206 that is located between the portions of the LED chips 100. In another aspect, a method includes configuring the metal substrate 204 to have the reflective surface 206, and mounting a plurality of LED chips 100 directly to the reflective surface 206 of the metal substrate 204 to allow for thermal dissipation, in which at least some of the LED chips 100 are spaced apart from each other to allow light to reflect from a portion of the reflective surface 206 that is located between the portions of the LED chips 100.
