To eliminate the scattering of a filthy water generated in a washing part over washed egg shells, avoid becoming unsanitary and increase sterilization effect by separating the first carrier device for washing egg shells and the second carrier device for sterilizing and drying the egg shells.

The washing section where the first carrier device 2a is placed and the sterilizing drying section where the second carrier device 3a is placed to spray ozonous water over egg shells for sterilization and subsequently to dry the egg shells, are separated, for example, by partitioning with a wall or by enclosing both the sections separately in a casing. Thus, the spray of the filthy water generated in the washing section does not come into the sterilizing drying section, and further the sterilization is efficiently carried out.
