To solve the problem that by a conventional egg transferring apparatus, when an egg conveyor is sped up, eggs are required to speedily approach egg seats on the egg conveyor, and therefore, an impact to be applied at the time of being seated becomes large, and eggs are apt to be broken.
By increasing the number of eggs which are transferred at one time, after ensuring a period of time required for one time of the transfer to be long enough, eggs are lowered to the lowest position and transferred to egg seats while following the egg seats along an arc which comes in contact with the upper end of the egg seats approximately horizontally within a vertical plane including the moving direction of the egg seats right after the tail end of the egg group, which has been seated last, has passed. By this method, a period of time for the releasing motion of eggs is taken long, and the eggs are released by gradually reducing a suction force, and then seated. Thus, the transfer of eggs in an egg sorting system which is faster than a conventional one is achieved.
