Title:
EGR DEVICE OF DIESEL ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3783319
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR device for an diesel engine which reduces NOx discharge amount as well as discharge of HC and SOF when EGR is performed during low load.
SOLUTION: An EGR device for an diesel engine consists of variable capacity type turbo supercharger 4 having a turbine 5 which is equipped with a variable nozzle vane in exhausting path 2 and a compressor 6 in an air intake path 3, an EGR path 13 which communicates an upstream side of the turbine 5 with a downstream side of the compressor 6, an air intake throttle valve 16 installed at the downstream side of the compressor 6, a controller 18 which controls the variable nozzle vane to be opened and the air intake throttle valve 16 to be closed when EGR is performed during low loading to the engine. Closing control of the air intake throttle valve 16 causes differential pressure between both sides of the EGR path 13 to increase, EGR ratio to increase, and NOx concentration to decrease, and causes air intake to decrease, discharged gas amount to decrease, and therefore total NOx discharge amount (NOx concentration × discharged gas amount) to decrease. In addition, opening control of the variable nozzle vane prevents boost pressure from rising.
