To provide an eject mechanism for a card connector having a narrow guide part and little play in a guide part of its eject rod.
This eject mechanism for a card connector comprises a metal shell 2 to be attached to a connector body, an eject rod 4 which is slidably provided in a guide part 3 formed along a side edge of the metal shell 2, and a turnable eject lever 5 overlappingly provided on the inside of the metal shell 2. The eject rod 4 is formed in a strip shape. The guide part 3 is formed with an inner sidewall 9 facing to an inner face of the eject rod 4 and outer sidewalls 10a, 10b, 10c facing to an outer face of the eject rod 4, while the inner sidewall 9 faces to the outer sidewalls 10a, 10b, 10c at an interval nearly equal to a thickness of the eject rod 4. An elastic piece 14 formed toward the outer sidewalls 10a, 10b, 10c of the guide part 3 urges the eject rod 4 toward the inner sidewall 9 of the guide part 3.
