PURPOSE: To secure a space of an operation switch and to make a magnetic recording tape running device thin, by making the longitudinal length of a decoration board located in parallel with the front of housing shorter than that of a tape cassette.

CONSTITUTION: An ejecting device 22 has the 1st base plate 32 prolonged to the direction crossing to a parallel plane in parallel with the rotating center line of a reel shaft (not shown). The 2nd base plate 62 is fitted to the front end of the upper end of the base plate 32 and the 3rd base plate 70 is fitted to the base plate 62 respectively freely rotatably. When the base plate 62 is located to the 1st position, a reel hub of a tape cassette 20 held 74 to a tape cassette is latched to the reel shaft, and while the base plate 62 moves along a guide hole 46 from the 1st to the 2nd position, the latch is released and the rotation center line of the reel hub of the tape cassette 20 is titled to the rotation center line of the reel shaft. Further, the cassette 20 held in parallel and a decoration board 26 draw the same trace.
