Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing consumption power of an EL display device.SOLUTION: An EL display device for controlling luminance according to a current value supplied to a light emission element comprises a power source for supplying current to the light emission element, and a control unit for controlling an output potential of the power source to be variable. The power source includes a first variable power source and a second variable power source outputting a potential lower than that of the first variable power source. The control unit changes an output potential of the first variable power source and an output potential of the second variable power source on the basis of the acquired maximum luminance information. The EL display device further comprises a gate signal output unit and a data signal output unit. The control unit changes a power source potential of the gate signal output unit and a power source potential of the data signal output unit according to the maximum luminance information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
