Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain rood elastic conductivity and sturdy adhesion between a core metal and elastic member of an elastic roller suitable for use in duplicators, etc., made of a core metal almost evenly covered with conductive porous elastic material. CONSTITUTION:A roller comprises a core metal 1 with supporting function and porous elastic material 2 almost evenly sorrounds it; they are bonded with adhesives. When assembled, a separate piece of tubular porous elastic member 3 is inserted with a metal core 4 whose outer diameter is larger than a bore of the tubular member so that inner surface of the tubular member 3 is strongly and positively pressed against to the metal core 4 by elasticity of the tubular member 3, so as to secure good conductivity. Also, when assembled with adhesives, to secure good electric conductivity regardless of nature of adhesives (conductive or not), adhesives 5 is not applied to whole surface of the metal core 4 and leaves unapplied portion 5'.
