To provide an elastic wheel, capable of improving steering stability, and a method of manufacturing the wheel.
This elastic wheel includes a rim 3 on which a tire 2 is installed, a disc 4 fixed to an axle, and a connection means for the rim 3 to the disc 4. The connection means 5 includes a pair of circular ring pieces 6 and 6 protruded from an inner circumferential surface 3i of the rim 3 radially inward to extend in the circumferential direction, and provided at a distance in the axle direction, a coupling part 7 provided radially outward of the disc 4, extended between the pair of ring pieces 6 and 6 in the circumferential direction, and having an axle direction interval to each ring piece 6, and a damper member 8 comprising rubber elastic material disposed between the ring piece 6 and the coupling part 7 to fill the interval. In an inner surface of each ring piece 6, a first engagement groove 9 is formed. In each surface of the coupling part 7 in the axle direction, a second engagement groove 10 is formed. The damper member 8 is supported by the first engagement groove 9 and the second engagement groove 10 as a pair at both ends in the axle direction to be disposed between them in a compressed state in the axle direction.
