Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain heat bonding fiber, having excellent cushioning properties and durability at ordinary temperature and under heating conditions and high safety and capable of readily producing a cushioning material, hardly becoming musty and good in comfortableness to sit thereon.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing elastomeric heat bonding fiber is characterized as conjugate fiber comprising a heat bonding component composed of a thermoplastic elastomer with ≤30wt.% soft segment and a heat unbonding component composed of a thermoplastic elastomer having a higher melting point than that of the heat bonding component by ≥30°C. The method for producing the elastomeric heat bonding fiber is characterized by carrying out the conjugate spinning of the thermoplastic elastomer which is the heat bonding component and the thermoplastic elastomer which is the heat unbonding component having the higher melting point than that of the heat bonding component by at least 30°C at a higher temperature than the melting point of the heat unbonding component by at least ≥20°C.
