Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electret condenser microphone (ECM) that is inexpensive, easy to manufacture and can be minimized.
SOLUTION: An ECM (100) includes a housing (101) for the microphone, a diaphragm (108a) having a first surface and a second surface within the housing, a first sound inlet port, a second sound inlet port spaced from the first sound inlet port, and an acoustic resistive material (118) disposed within the housing and in the acoustic path between the second inlet port and the diaphragm. The acoustic resistive material may further electrically couple a backplate (112) which is coupled to the diaphragm, to an amplifier (122) disposed within the housing.
