Title:
ELECTRIC ACOUSTIC CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP01170200
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a converter without an azimuthal error over a wide band by differential-synthesizing dipole signals pulled out from the outer surface electrode and inner surface electrode of two oscillators and improving a dipole directional characteristic in a deflection resonance frequency.

CONSTITUTION: Divided electrodes 2a∼2d and 3a∼3d, in which dividing directions are mutually orthogonal, are provided on the inner and outer surfaces of cylindrical piezoelectric bodies 1a and 1b, and oscillators 4a and 4b are composed. The outer surface electrodes 3a and 3b of the oscillator 4a and the inner surface electrodes 2c and 2d of the oscillator 4b are differential- connected to the primary side of a transformer 5a, and a dipole signal Vx in an X direction and a dipole signal Vy in a Y direction are outputted from a secondary side. In such a way, for the two kinds of the distorted dipole signals obtained from respective converters 4a and 4b, the distorted components are mutually averaged, and a normal dipole signal can be obtained at the secondary side of the transformer 5. Consequently, an electric acoustic converter with little azimuthal errors over the wide band and with a high accuracy can be realized.
