To miniaturize a valve drive device and improve control response.
Since self opening type valve 9 is constructed to be driven and opened by torque of an electric air pump 3, namely motor torque of a motor shaft 5 of an electric motor 4, a diaphragm for driving and opening the valve 9 is not required and the valve drive device driving and opening the valve 9 can be miniaturized. Since the valve 9 is built to the motor shaft 5 of the electric air pump 3 via a motion direction conversion mechanism 7, open motion of the valve 9 can be started in a short period of time from start of rotary action of an impeller 6 of the electric air pump 3 to improve control response. Since the valve 9 can be retained in full close condition by energizing force of a coil spring 43 at a time stop of rotation of an impeller 6 of the electric air pump 3, intrusion of exhaust gas and condensed water or the like into the electric air pump can be prevented.
