Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric automobile capable of maintaining the cooling performance of a condenser even if an amount of coolant for cooling an inverter is reduced.SOLUTION: An electric automobile includes: a travel motor; an inverter for the motor; a circulation path for circulating a coolant for cooling the inverter; a reserve tank disposed amid the circulation path; an electric pump for sending the coolant to the inverter; a control device for applying PWM control to the electric pump; and a temperature sensor for detecting temperature of the inverter. In a case where a rotation speed of the electric pump exceeds a specified value, the control device performs protective control of the electric pump. Based on a temperature rise rate of the cooling water calculated from at least one of a power supply state of the travel motor, an inverter temperature, and a control state of the electric pump, the control device estimates a residual amount of a coolant stored in the reserve tank, and, if detecting an event that the estimated residual amount is reduced to less than a given amount, reduces a duty ratio of PWM or increases a specified value.
