To provide an electric blind driving unit which prevents self-weight falling of slats of an electric blind, and can reduce a mounting space thereof.

The electric blind driving unit functions to drive a driving shaft 9 for rotation by a motor 2 arranged in a head box 1 to raise/lower the slats, and is provided with a brake means for inhibiting the driving shaft 9 from rotating due to the weight of the slats, to thereby prevent the self-weight falling of the slats. Herein a gear box 3 for reducing the rotation of an output shaft of the motor 2 and transmitting the reduced rotation to the driving shaft 9, is interposed between the motor 2 and the driving shaft 9, and a brake device for applying a braking force to the rotation of the output shaft of the motor 2 is housed in the gear box 3 as the brake means.
