To provide an electric blower for achieving a recirculation cut by forming an annular sealing member with elasticity in shape, not in material.

For an annular sealing member 26, as show in Fig. (A), general resin material including ABS and PET with high shape retentivity, instead of PTFE material, is used to form a hollow condition between a portion in slide contact with a front shroud 23 and the ceiling of a suction port in a fan casing 21 so that the fan casing 21 has one end, on the suction port side, not fixed in the hollow condition and the other end fixed to be flexible at a supporting point, movable to the axial direction and elasticity-retentive in shape. During assembling a motor, a fan is prohibited from being locked because the sealing material is flexible and reductive in frictional resistance, in spite that the front shroud of an impeller contacts a sealing member with high rigidity, and the slide contact portion of the sealing member is cut off with the initial rotation of the fan to be then rotated in approximate slide contact. The effect of recirculation cut between the fan casing and the front shroud is almost perfect, thus to improve blowing efficiency.
