Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device of a vehicle which can exactly decide an abrasion amount of a friction pad, and can surely notify abrasion at proper timing.SOLUTION: An electric brake device sandwiches a brake disc fixed to a wheel by two friction pads according to an operation of a brake operation member, and generates a brake force at the wheel by pushing one of the two friction pads by using an electric motor. The electric brake device comprises a rotation angle sensor for detecting a rotation angle of the electric motor, and a controller for controlling the electric motor. The controller decides an entire abrasion amount being a total of abrasion amounts of the two friction pads on the basis of the rotation angle, and estimates at least a first abrasion amount which is larger in the abrasion amount out of the two friction pads on the basis of the entire abrasion amount. For example, the controller estimates the first abrasion amount so that a difference between the first abrasion amount and a half of the entire abrasion amount is increased as the entire abrasion amount is increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
