Title:
ELECTRIC BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10205554
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To simplify a structure by providing a gear pump for discharging hydraulic oil to a cylinder, and an electric motor for driving the gear pump.

When a brake is released, an electric motor 17 is rotated in the opposite direction to the direction in the operation of the brake, and a rotary shaft 39 is rotated counterclockwise. Respective gears 32, 33 are rotated counterclockwise, and hydraulic oil in a cylinder 14 is fed to a reservoir 51 contrary to a case where the brake is operated. Accordingly, pressure in a hydraulic oil chamber 10 is reduce, a piston 13 is slid and moved to the right side, and a brake pad 12 is separated from a brake disc 11. The brake discs 11 is allowed to be rotated, and the brake is released. Since a gear pump 16 is used to drive the brake pad 12 in the electric brake 1, any relief valve for preventing the back flow of the hydraulic oil is dispensed with. Accordingly, the structure of the electric brake 1 can be simplified.
