To provide an electric bulb having a long lifetime excels in the vibration proof property, and presents a long on/off lifetime.
A plurality of small-sized electric bulbs 1 having no socket base are connected in series and accommodated in an envelope 2 upon assembling, and a base 3 is mounted on one end of the envelope 2. The envelope 2 is made of a synthetic resin and composed of a basis 2a and cap 2b, and thereby a large strength is assured and an equivalent shape to that of a commercially available electric bulb can be embodied, for example nutmeg bulb form, small round bulb form, tapered light bulb form for shrine, chandelier bulb form, etc. The basis 2a is equipped with a holder part 2a2 to hold a seal part of the obtained baseless small-sized electric bulb. If at least the cap part 2b is made of a colored synthetic resin with transparency, a color electric bulb having much colored light is obtained as there is no colored coating film. Because a baseless small-sized electric bulb 1 with a low voltage may be adopted according to the described configuration, the filament 1b is short and has long life, and there is less stress resulting from on/off to lead to a long on/off lifetime, and also an excellent vibrational proof property is assured owing to holding of the bulb 1 in the basis 2a.
