PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous power supply from a charger to an electric car, if sufficient power is not stored in a storage battery.SOLUTION: A charging system includes a storage battery, one or more power sources different from the storage battery, and a power management device which manages power supplied from the storage battery and the power sources. A charger charges the electric car with the power supplied from the storage battery and the power source. A computer, loaded on the electric car, receives power data which indicates a value below the total sum of power, which can be supplied from the storage battery and the power source, calculated by the power management device, as suppliable output data which indicates an output which can be supplied from the charger. Thereafter, the computer loaded on the electric car transmits current value data which indicates a necessary current value for charging. A power supply and demand control unit loaded on the electric car supplies and demands power by the current value, indicated by the current value data, from the charger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
