Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate the continuously travelable distance of a vehicle with high accuracy, and to prevent traveling to become inexecutable by calling a driver's attention to the distance in a high-load operation. SOLUTION: In a series-type hybrid electric automobile, the continuously travelable distance D is calculated based on a battery charging rate SOC, a reduction rate RSOC of the SOC and a an averaged vehicle speed Va when a motor-consumption current IM is larger than a battery-supply current IG. By indicating the continuously travelable distance D, a driver is notified that the vehicle is in the high-load operation and can travel only the distance D under this operation.
