Title:
ELECTRIC CLEANER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63217951
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the electrical and mechanical losses of an electric cleaner by providing a flexible line for transmitting a force for separating at least one of a plurality of brushes from a corresponding commutator to the brush when it is operated in a specific mode.

CONSTITUTION: When the connector of a power cord is removed from a case, an actuator 21 is rotated by the elastic force of a spring 23 through a flexible line 22 in a direction of an arrow B, and a long hole 20a is engaged with a pin 19. A pair of slide plates 20 are driven in their separating directions, and a high voltage brush 15 is separated from a high voltage commutator 13. When a switch is closed in this state to connect a battery to a low voltage brush, a motor is operated. Since the brush 15 is separated from the commutator 13 at this time, no friction occurs between both, thereby reducing the electrical and mechanical losses.
