To provide an electric compressor with a built-in inverter capable of efficiently cooling the inverter without enlarging a machine body vessel and operating without deteriorating reliability and performance even under a high temperature and sever vibration environment such as engine direct mounting.
In the electric compressor provided with a compression mechanism part 5, a casing main body 3 having a motor 4 driving the compression mechanism part 5 built therein, and an inverter case 7 having an inverter 8 driving the motor 4 built therein, and provided with a thermo module 20 as a main cooling means for cooling a heat transmission surface member 19 of the inverter 8, spaces in the inverter 8 and the inverter case 7 are cooled by the thermo module 20, and performance and reliability are improved by making external thermal influence not easily received by a heat insulating means provided on the inverter case 7 and prohibiting deterioration acceleration by heat of components and a circuit constructing the inverter 8.
