An electric compressor 3 includes: a compressor 3 configured to compress a refrigerant, and an electric motor 5 for driving the compressor 3, and has a refrigerant flowing passage 11 for allowing the refrigerant distributed through passage ports 7 of the compressor 3 to flow in or out. A refrigerant introducing/discharging passage 19 with the refrigerant being introduced to stators 17 side of the electric motor 5 and discharged from the stators 17 is formed in a partition wall 15 between a storage chamber 13 of the electric motor 5 and the refrigerant flowing passage 11 with an opening of the refrigerant introducing/discharging passage 19 being located along the circumferential direction of the storage chamber 13.
