Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, highly reliable and inexpensive short-circuiting electric connector assembly including a pair of fitting connectors.
SOLUTION: This short-circuiting electric connector 12 is provided with an insulating housing 20 having a fitting edge 22, in which an aperture 26 for receiving a complementary fitting connector 14 is arranged. The aperture is communicated with an internal hollow 28. A plurality of terminals 16 are installed to the housing, and in each of the terminals, a contact part 16a for engaging with a proper terminal 18 in the fitting connector is provided in the hollow. A short-circuiting member 40 is provided with a holding section 42 for fixing it to the housing in the vicinity of the aperture. A slant section 50 of the short circuit member is extended backward to the hollow from the holding section so as to be engaged by means of the fitting connector. A contact section 54 of the short-circuiting member is extended from the slant section 50 so as to be separated from the holding section 42 and engaged with at least a pair of terminals 16 if no fitting connector is arranged.
