PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of an electric cooking apparatus and to eliminate uneven heating of a substance to be cooked, by providing units consisting respectively of an upper and a lower two heating members coupled in a unitary manner, and making the capacity of the upper heating member smaller than that of the lower heating member.

CONSTITUTION: An upper unit heater 11a and a lower unit heater 11b are provided in a heating chamber 9 of a heating apparatus. These unit heaters 11a, 11b consist respectively of two heating members 13a, 14a and 13b, 14b which are coupled in a unitary manner by means of holders 15. Of these two heating members 13a, 14a or 13b, 14b, one heating members 13a, 13b are disposed just above the other heating members 14a, 14b and in parallel with the same, and the capacity of the former heating members is made smaller than that of the latter. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to increase the total capacity of the heating apparatus and to increase the temperature rise in the heating chamber. Further, assembling and wiring operation can be facilitated.
