PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of a protective current to auxiliary equipment and to obtain the electric corrosion protection device capable of allowing the current to effectively act on a material to be protected by surrounding the material and an anode opposed to the material with a shield material consisting of an electrical insulating material.
CONSTITUTION: A galvanic cell is formed between a side steel sheet 2 to be protected and a galvanic anode 3 in the electric corrosion protection device 1. A corrosive current generated on the surface of the sheet 2 is compensated by the protective current flowing between the sheet and anode through the through-hole 7a of a pit 7 to protect the sheet 2. The protective current flows radially with respect to the anode 3 as a whole, and a part flows in the direction separating from the sheet 2. However, since the flow direction is interrupted by the shield material 4, the current flows toward the sheet 2. Accordingly, even if there is metallic auxiliary equipment 5 electrically connected to the sheet close to the sheet 2, the leakage of the protective current to the equipment 5 is prevented, and high-efficiency corrosion protection is achieved.
