To provide an electric deionized liquid producing apparatus, which has a monolith ion exchanger with high strength, can reduce pressure loss when water is passed therethrough, is excellent in the quality of treated water, and consumes less electric power.
The electric deionized liquid producing apparatus at least includes: a desalting region filled with a first organic porous ion exchanger; a liquid permeation region which is disposed adjacent to the ion removing side of the desalting region and filled with a second organic porous ion exchanger, and through which part of a liquid to be treated permeates; electrodes disposed on both sides of the desalting region and the liquid permeation region; an inflow pipe for the liquid to be treated, through which the liquid to be treated is passed; an electrode chamber or a concentrating chamber into which the liquid which has permeated through the liquid permeation region is discharged; and an outflow pipe for a desalted liquid, through which the desalted liquid is discharged from the desalting region. In the apparatus, the first organic porous ion exchanger is a monolith which has an open cell structure with a big-boned skeleton.
