To provide effective safety measures for all desk lamp head overheating.

An electric desk lamp has a stand head 100 containing a light source 10 and a shade 5. A reset type temperature sensor 7 is arranged on the head 100 to detect a temperature for opening/closing a contact. The contact is arranged in a lighting circuit for the light source 10. When the temperature detected by the reset type temperature sensor 7 gets to an upper limit value, the contact is operated to forcibly cut the light source 10 off. When the temperature detected gets down to a lower limit value, the contact is reset to the original lighting condition.
