Abstract:

To prevent a lock failure of a lock mechanism caused by the intrusion of sand and dust, and to prevent the lowering of a heat dissipation property of a brake.

In an electric disc brake device, a linear motion mechanism A and an electric motor M for operating the linear motion mechanism A are arranged in parallel along the circumferential direction of a disc D, a rotation force from the electric motor M is transmitted to the linear motion mechanism A via a gear deceleration mechanism G, and a brake force is generated by pressing pads 51, 52 to the disc D by the linear motion mechanism A. Lock parts 41 are arranged at side faces of gears possessed by the gear deceleration mechanism G, a pin-operating actuator S for operating lock pins 42 locked to the lock parts 41 is arranged in a space between the electric motor M and the linear motion mechanism A to constitute the lock mechanism 40, and axial cores of tips of the lock pins 42 locked to the lock parts 41 are arranged outside the radial direction of the disc D rather than the nearest position between the linear motion mechanism A and the electric motor M.
