Title:
ELECTRIC DISCHARGE LAMP WITH REFLECTING MIRROR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05325909
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electric discharge lamp with a reflecting mirror capable of reducing generation of color nonuniformity without blurring a projecting surface when used as a light source for a projector.

CONSTITUTION: A semi-circular groove 7 for inserting an electric power supply wire is formed along the longitudinal direction of the side wall of a lamp supporting hole 6 bored in the lower portion on a side opposite to an opening of a reflecting mirror 5. A base 3 disposed at one end of a metal halide lamp 1 is inserted into the lamp supporting hole 6. An electric power supply wire 8 connected to an outside lead wire 2a provided at the other end of the metal halide lamp 1 is inserted into the semi-circular groove 7. Consequently, the metal halide lamp 1 is fixed to the reflecting mirror 5, thus constituting an electric discharge lamp with the reflecting mirror.
