Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machine having such a function as to monitor the deterioration of ion exchange power of an ion exchanger with a simple constitution and at a low cost and inform a user of an alarm upon arrival of a life or before the arrival of the life.SOLUTION: An electric discharge machine is provided with a resistivity detector 7 which detects resistivity of working liquid 2, measures water passage time of the working liquid 2 to an ion exchanger 5, detects a resistivity value of the working liquid 2 in a fresh water tank 1 and, when a change value of the resistivity within a predetermined time gets to the outside of predetermined set range, judges that the ion exchanger 5 arrives at a life and gives an alarm, in the electric discharge machine in which the working liquid 2 is caused to pass through a working liquid circulation path including the ion exchanger 5 and, thereby, the resistivity of the working liquid 2 is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
