PURPOSE: To permit an electrode to perform glossy machining of large area, by constituting the electrode main unit focusing plural column-shaped conductive members to be mutually insulated while exchangeably connecting a high resistance plate-shaped member with one end of the electrode main unit and uniformly feeding electric power.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode main unit 2 constitutes column-shaped conductive members 1, focused and mutually insulated, respectively into an independent discharge circuit to be brought into contact with a high resistance plate-shaped member 3, consisting of ceramic material or the like through each leaf spring 11, and electric power is supplied uniformly to the whole surface from a power fed means 4 through plural leaf springs 41. Accordingly, the individual discharge circuit 1, generating sufficiently small discharge energy in each time, enables glossy machining to be realized by preventing a generated crater from becoming large. While if the high resistance plate-shaped member 3 is replaced with a low resistance plate-shaped member consisting of copper or the like rough machining can be performed by a large electric current. In this way, the machining can be performed being easily switched to the glossy machining or rough machining.
