PURPOSE: To perform an efficient sintering operation by eliminating the current concentration to the front end of a punch and averting overheating of the front end even if the punch is rapidly heated up by impressing a large current thereto.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constructed to have the front end 5 where the punch 2 is inserted into a material charging part 3 of a molding die 7 and a base part 6 which is larger in sectional area than the front end in the case of obtaining a sintered compact by pressuring and compressing a powder material M charged into a molding die 1 by means of the punch 2, then impressing the pulse current through the punch 2. The molding die 1 has the material charging part 3 and the end 4 to be fitted with the base part 6 of the punch 2.
