Abstract:
To provide an electric double-layer capacitor which has high dielectric strength and very large energy density.
An anode 1 between a couple of opposite electrodes is a polarized electrode made principally of activated carbon; a cathode 5 is made principally of a carbonaceous material obtained by making a carbon material made of thermal resolution products of furfuryl alcohol resin or thermal resolution products of novolac resin as a carbon material which can absorb and desorb lithium with the negative pale 5 ionized state by a chemical or electrochemical method; and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution is used as an electrolytic solution 7.
