PURPOSE: To enable a life of filter to be made longer by arranging electrode plates in front of a filter with certain spacings and by setting flat plate counter electrodes between those electrode plates.
CONSTITUTION: Discharge electrodes 20a are fixed to a supporting frame 19 by supporting plates 71 and counter electrodes 21a are fitted into slits 72 of the supporting frame 19. Holes 73 are bored through the discharge electrodes 20a, projections 74 are arranged on the supporting plates 71 to be inserted into the holes 73, and the discharge electrode 20a are connected to the supporting plates 71 by inserting the projections 74 into the holes 73 and hot- caulking them. Corona discharges are generated from discharge needles 57 of the discharge electrodes 20a by applying a high voltage with a power source 65. Electric fields are formed between the counter electrodes 21a and a dust- removing filter 14 by the corona discharges, the dust-removing filter is polarized as a result and the dust is captured by Coulomb force. It is possible to clean air homogeneously by this apparatus.
