PURPOSE: To utilize in an electric element using materials such as metal and a semiconductor by a method wherein a high polymer insulation layer composed by forming solution of a crotonic acid ester polymer on a substrate and an electrode are provided while said crotonic acid ester polymer contains a repeated unit of specific crotonic acid ester.
CONSTITUTION: A high polymer insulation layer as thick as 10 to 1000 angstrom composed by forming solution of a crotonic acid ester polymer on a substrate by means of spin coating or Langumuir-Blodgett's technique and an electrode are provided where in said crotonic acid ester polymer contains a repeated unit of crotonic acid ester expressed by an equation I (where R refers to a branches alkyl radical with 3 to 12 carbons, a cycloalkyl radical with 3 to 12 carbons, a substituent alkyl radical with 2 to 6 carbons having a substituent of a circle structure with 3 to 14 carbons, a substituent cycloalkyl radical with 3 to 10 carbons having a substituent of said circle structure or a silosane hydrocarbon radical wherein each radical may contain hetero atoms or substituted by halogen atoms).
