The electric energy monitoring system includes a TV receiver having a display and a BD recorder connected to the TV receiver via an HDMI cable. Based on the power consumption information received from the BD recorder and the power consumption information and electricity bill calculation information on the TV receiver, the TV receiver calculates an electricity bill for all or part of the electric energy monitoring system when the energy saving setting is changed, and displays on a display 21 an increase or decrease L15, L16 in electricity bill based on the calculated electricity bills L13, L14 after the change of the energy saving setting and the electricity bills L11, L12 before the change of the energy saving setting previously calculated.
