Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process with overall cost reduced by reducing energy unit consump tion and oxidation loss in a molten iron.
SOLUTION: Iron ore is effectively melted, raised in temperature, decarbonized and refined in an electric furnace by mixedly using electric energy and fossil energy. In melting step, cold iron ore is melted by electric energy. In raising step, the material is decarbonized, raised in temperature and refined by blowing oxygen from oxygen blowing lance after melting, and melting operation can be processed by continuously feeding iron scrap during oxygen blowing operation. According to the defined method, inner diameter of the electric furnace can be reduced shorter than conventional one.
