PURPOSE: To reduce driving power of an electric governor and form the governor to small size, by providing a linear solenoid of the electric governor, which operates a fuel adjusting member in a fuel injection pump, coaxially to the fuel adjusting member further connecting a viscous resistance member to the fuel adjusting member.
CONSTITUTION: The captioned governor is equipped with an actuator 3 operating a fuel control rack 2 of a fuel injection pump, and the actuator is controlled by a control circuit 10 in accordance with a deviation between a target and actual injection amount obtained from an accelerator operational amount 8a, engine speed 8b, intake air pressure 8c, intake air temperature 8d, fuel temperature 8e, etc. Here a linear solenoid equipping a movable core 32 is used as the actuator 3 and the core 32 is arranged to a position coaxially to the rack 2. Then a return spring 4 is arranged to a holding member 22 integrally formed with the rack 2, and the member 22 is connected through a contactor 6 to a sensor core 54 of a viscous resistance member 5 used also for a rack position detector.
