Abstract:
To provide a metallic thin film so that metallic foil resists structural load in a component when a heater assembly is embedded in the inside of an engine or airframe component.
An electrothermal heater assembly 20 embedded in the inside of the component for preventing or canceling freezing of the component includes a titanium foil 22 formed into a shape used as a heater element, at least one reinforcing layer 28 located adjacently to the titanium foil 22, and an adhesive 24 for bonding the titanium foil to at least one reinforcing layer. The heater assembly 20 is configured so that the titanium foil 22 can resist the structural load of the heater assembly 20.
