Title:
ELECTRICALLY HEATED CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016198735
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of local stress concentration in a low strength region when thermal expansion and thermal shrinkage are repeated on a portion of an outer peripheral wall of a catalyst support where an end of an electrode is located.SOLUTION: An electrically heated catalyst 1 heated by energization includes a catalyst support 2 for supporting a catalytic noble metal, and a pair of electrodes 3a, 3b arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the catalyst support. The catalyst support has a plurality of cells partitioned by latticed cell walls on a cross section vertical to its axial direction. A plurality of the cells are arranged adjacently to each other with cell walls interposed in-between. A cell located at the inner side of an outermost periphery of the catalyst support shares a polygonal cross section with two or more consecutive cells including a cell where an electrode end is located, among cells located at the outermost periphery of the catalyst support.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
