To provide an electric linear actuator capable of supporting a load and reciprocating an output shaft from outside.
The electric linear actuator comprises a rotating shaft 4 supported rotatably in a housing 1, an electric motor 7 fixed to the housing 1, a worm gear provided between a motor shaft 7a of the electric motor 7 and the rotating shaft 4, a feeding screw 4a formed integrally with the rotating shaft 4, a nut 21 which engages with the feeding screw 4a to be constrained for rotation and is supported movably in axial direction, and a cylindrical output shaft 23 whose base end is bound and fixed to the nut 21. It also comprises a friction plate 15 where a worm wheel 9 is rotatably supported on the rotating shaft 4 abutting with the side surface on the rear side of the warm wheel 9, a disc spring 16 which pressurizes the friction plate 15, and a pressurizing force adjusting nut 17. The worm wheel 9, the friction plate 15, the disc spring 16, and the pressurizing force adjusting nut 17 constitute a torque limiter. Thus, the motion in axial direction that reciprocates the output shaft from outside is converted into the rotational movement of the rotating shaft by the nut with the torque limiter slipping it. The slippage allows the rotating shaft to idle.
