To provide an electric lock which is rendered openable on right and left sides after mounting thereof on a door body, to thereby reduce production and managing costs.

A lock main body 3 of the electric lock includes a dead bolt 2 for locking/unlocking a door body 1 by progressing to/withdrawing from a striker arranged on the side of a door frame, and a dead bolt operating shaft 4 of the lock main body 3 is driven by both an electrically driving section 6 using an actuator 5 and a thumb turn 8 having its lug portion 7 arranged outside the door body 1 in an undetachable manner. According to the electric lock thus formed, an installation angle of the thumb turn 8 with respect to the dead bolt operating shaft 4 is made variable depending on a fixed state thereof to the door body 1.
